General Assembly and Annual Conference
The Japanese Political Science Association’s Annual Conference is primarily open to association members only, except when presentations are requested or approved by the Planning Committee, International Exchange Committee, or other relevant bodies. Non-members planning to present at the conference must become members before the event.
Only members can view and download the abstracts and papers. Members should log in to the designated page using the password provided in the Japanese Political Science Association Newsletter, which is sent individually to members.
For the 2024 conference, non-members are allowed to attend as audience members. No prior registration is required. Please pay the participation fee of 1,000 yen at the reception desk. Please note that non-members will not have access to view or download the abstracts or papers published on the conference homepage.
JPSA 2024 General Assembly & Annual Conference
- Date: Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6, 2024
- Venue: Nagoya University (Higashiyama Campus)
This year’s General Assembly and Annual Conference will be held at Nagoya University’s Higashiyama Campus (Chikusa Ward, Nagoya City). Both will take place in the Faculty of Law and Faculty of Economics buildings (Main Law Faculty Bldg., Law and Economics Shared Facilities Bldg.) and the Asian Legal Exchange Plaza. The reception desk will be set up in the Law and Economics Shared Facilities Bldg. A reception is scheduled for the evening of Saturday, October 5, on the Nagoya University campus.
Any changes to the event format or details will be announced via the association’s website and mailing list.

Internet access will be available via the “eduroam” service.
Meals
On Saturdays only, the Nagoya University Co-op North Cafeteria will be open from 11:00 to 14:00. There are also cafés on campus, including Starbucks (inside the Central Library, open both Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 to 18:00) and Café Blanc (inside the Gender Research Library, open Saturdays from 10:00 to 15:00), as well as two convenience stores. For additional dining options, please visit nearby restaurants around the campus or in areas such as Motoyama (Motoyama Station) and Yagoto (Yagoto Station).
Childcare Services and Childcare Fee Support
A childcare room and breastfeeding space will be available on-site at Nagoya University’s Higashiyama Campus. The association will partially cover the childcare fees for members. The association also provides fee support for members who use off-campus childcare or babysitting services during the conference. For more details, please refer to the following link:

In addition to childcare services, hot water for formula preparation and breastfeeding spaces will be available on-site. Please feel free to use these facilities.
Participation for Non-Members
Non-members are welcome to attend as audience members. No prior registration is required. On the day of the event, please pay the 1,000 yen participation fee at the reception desk. You will be provided with a name badge at the reception, which must be worn while at the venue.
